What is the recommended age for bunk beds?
While there’s no “one-size-fits-all” age for when kids are ready to sleep on the top bunk, it’s best to wait until your little one is at least six years old.

But even if your child is over six, it’s worth remembering that they may still not be ready. If your little one isn’t confident on a ladder and is making nightly trips to the bathroom, it’s safest to avoid the top bunk for now.

For the lower bunk, wait until your child has outgrown their crib and is ready to upgrade to a larger crib. This usually happens around the age of five or six.

What are the advantages of buying a bunk bed?
It might go without saying, but a bunk bed is a lifesaver if you’re trying to save bedroom space. When children share a room, you are tasked with squeezing two of everything together in one room.

So if you can save an entire bed’s floor space, why wouldn’t you?! In addition, it is often much cheaper to buy a bunk bed for your children than to buy two separate singles…

And even if your children don’t share a room, a bunk bed is an excellent option for overnight stays. This means you don’t have to use valuable storage space to stow away an extra mattress or tent bed.

In addition, many bunk beds have added clothing storage to save even more space. Take a look at the amazing Parisot Stim 2 Kids bunk bed (below). With a built-in wardrobe and storage under the bed, you save plenty of space for your children to play.
